Was driving home from work tonight and traffic was horrible, so I got off the freeway and took the side streets home. They took me past relics. Places I hadn't seen or thought about in what seemed like years. His apartment with that huge front window. Does he even live there anymore? That restraurant you went to afterwards. That parking lot that overlooks the airport. I love the airport. Leaving that place you swore you'd never go back to on a Sunday morning in Saturday's clothes. Missed chances and poor choices. It seems like a completely different city. A Vegas of the past. Freeways wisk us past places we'd rather not see.
